Sahida is 13 and from a distressed family. Her father died at an early age. Her two elder brothers are married, separated, and do not look after Sahida and her mother. Her mother works as a day-labourer and struggles to survive in life. One day when she was alone at home, some local goons, who had been on the lookout, kidnapped her after making her eat something laced with some drug. They were foiled in their attempt by some neighbours, who rescued her.
Her mother to ensure her daughter’s life contacted some local NGO, who gave directed her to Keertika. Sahida is now safe and sound at Keertika home and is getting a formal education.
